Your heart doesn't care about your spreadsheet
That little voice saying GO? Let's talk about her.
Hey sister,
You know what used to infuriate me when I first started teaching purpose over a decade ago?
Watching women sell their souls to jobs that drained them, barely make ends meet, and still convince themselves they had no choice. They'd wake up, get on the train, go to the same job, come home exhausted, and repeat the whole thing the next day. And somewhere along the way, they'd stopped asking themselves whether the life they were living was actually the life they wanted.
I've always felt that so many women have been taught to make every decision from the neck up. Logic. Reason. Reality. Responsibility. The spreadsheet. The bank account. All the practical things that have their place, of course, but can become the only things we listen to.
Meanwhile, that witchy-ass intuitive heart keeps whispering.
Leave. Go. Try something different. Take the trip. Find the courage to explore the thing you can't stop thinking about.
And we talk ourselves out of it before we even give ourselves a chance to listen.
Sister, I want you to start noticing that voice. I'm not telling you to ignore your responsibilities or make reckless decisions with your money. I'm asking you to consider whether fear has been making every decision for you, and whether there's room to make a plan that honours both your real-life responsibilities and the desires you've been pushing aside.
Because sometimes you need to step outside your normal environment to hear yourself again.
That's one of the reasons I love bringing women to Ireland. We get to leave the usual routines behind for a while, walk the land, explore ancient places, work with ritual, connect with other women, and create enough space to listen to what's been going on inside us.
And during Samhain, there's something especially meaningful about gathering on this land to honour the ancestors, explore the old traditions, and remember the parts of ourselves that modern life can make so easy to forget.
If Ireland has been on your heart, I'd love for you to take a look at the pilgrimage.
We're going in 17 days, and there are still spaces available.
You don't have to figure out every single thing before you explore the possibility. Start by reading about the journey, looking at the details, and feeling into whether this is something you want to make room for.
Big love,
Amber 🌹
